TestStand Error -17000

TestStand will report an error code while executing my steps.

I will use an CPP dll file to communicatie via RS232 with my DUTs. On the first start of TestStand after a reboot of the PC, TestStand will not show any error.

The second run the -17000 error code with OUT OF MEMORY will shown on the screen (and other error codes)

I disabled the tracing and changed the reporting to several modes.

Can you help me to solve my problems??

sorry for posting so often, I got an error starting the article...

I disabled the tracing completely and triedthe HTML/XML and Text Reporting function

TestStand Version is 3.5

Hi Robert,

try to look inside your DLL calls and code and verify carefully the parameters passed to and from your DLL & TS.

Check the data type especially for pointers some time there are some dangerous mismatch that arise to memory leacks.

You can get an out of memory error if you try to generate a report for an execution which has executed a large number of steps . How many steps have you executed in your execution when you get this error?

I found the error in front of the keyboard 🙂

I tried to write a pointer array into a normal variable.

The interesting thing was, when I disabled the reporting, no error occured...

I am getting the same error when logging the large report after running TS for  almost two hours.

I m using html format for reports.made several customisation in report_html seq

please take this on high priority as i  m using ts maily for reporting.

Hello ,

Just a gentle reminder to the poblem. I m Still facing this problem.I am running nightly build and getting memor full error.

How can i solve this problem. I cant use ON the fly option because I am doign testing of fast switching device and it down make sense of using TS as i m getting  mismatched result bercause of slugish responce from TS.

Is their any way,Money is not a problem.

in order to get an answer, you shouldn't hijack other threads. Regarding your question you can find many threads ......... 

And because of this, there is an article available explaining the mechanism of the reporting. With this knowledge, you can hopefully create a way to solve your problem on your own.
