NI Teststand 2014 Deployment Utility cannot add Teststand Runtime Engine to custom installer

Hi everyone,

I am trying to generate an installer for our test benches using the Deployment Utility bundled with NI Teststand 2014 (64-bit).  In the Installer Options -­> Drivers and Components menu, I have the option to select NI TestStand Runtime 2014 in order to add it to my installer.  When I leave the menu by clicking OK, I am prompted to provide a file path for the Runtime installer files.  I downloaded these from this link : http://www.ni.com/download/ni-teststand-run-time-system-2014/4796/en/ and I had them unzipped in C:\National Instruments Downloads\TestStand\RTE2014-64.  When this is done, I get an error message saying that this is an installer for TestStand 2014 and not the Runtime.

I know I can install the Runtime beforehand on our deployment systems, but I'd like to know if I missed something and if it can easily be fixed.  I'll provide screenshots if needed as I am not currently on the Teststand developement system.

Phil,

Since you have TestStand installed on your machine, you should be able to point to the ProductCache and let it find the correct version of the runtime:

C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\MDF\ProductCache

That should actually be the default location for the Installer Source Location in the deployment utility.
