I got the following warning messages during a deployment build:
*** WARNING ***Product 'NI Measurement & Automation Explorer 4.7' depends on a product that cannot be found on the system. Didn't know if that meant that MAX woudl not be installed so I deleted from the target system and it showed up again after deployed the new build and it talks to the 488 instruments. So I am not sure what to make of this error. Maybe MAX will work but some esoteric feature will not work?
Inquiring minds want to know....
Thanks,

What version of TestStand are you using?
When I worked on Deployment Utility that came with TestStand 4.2.1, I experienced numerous issues, some of them similar to what you describe. Once I upgraded to TestStand 2010, all problems disappeared.
My post on Deployment Utility: http://forums.ni.com/t5/NI-TestStand/TestStand-Deployment-Utility-Bug-Fixes/td-p/1319351

Thanks for posting. Not sure I follow you. I have the 2010 development suite DS2 installed. It calls LabView 2010 but the TestStand version that it installs is 4.2.1.

I'm suggesting you to try upgrading your TestStand 4.2.1 to TestStand 2010.
I found TS2010's Deployment Utility to be much better than the old one. NI person who replied to my post said "Deployment Utility has been highly improved in TestStand 2010". In my opinion, Deployment Utility that came with TestStand 4.2.1 was very buggy.
Of course, I can't guarantee that the upgrade will solve all your problems.

Just found out my license got hosed when I was put on the VLA so I no longer have DS with Automated test option. So no 2010 for me, no sense downloading something I can only use for 30 days and then have to go back.

I get exectly the same message as at the begining of this thread and I am running 2010.

I should correct my previous statement.
With TS 2010 DU, I still get many errors during the build, including errors about MAX 4.7. The improvement I see with TS2010 is that DU will finish the build even with errors and I can deploy and run just fine. With TS 4.2.1 DU I could not even finish the build.
I current have installed:
TS 2010
LV 2010 32-bit
NI-DAQmx 9.2.3 (includes MAX 4.7.4)
CVI 2009 SP1
NI-VISA 5.0.3 plus many other misc components
I can successfully build and deploy my cDAQ based system but I do still get error messages during DU build. For the time being I'm just ignoring the errors because they haven't caused any real issues for me.

I would first like to speak to the warnings in the first post. This seems to be an issue with installer/deployment framework. Basically, it is a known issue, and it is scheduled to be fixed in upcoming releases of our software. According to the corrective action request, there is no way to get around it, but it should not have any negative inpact on the builds and deployments.
The errors in the second post are something different. I will continue to look into that issue, and keep you unpdated with any information I find.
Regards,
Jensen
