LabVIEW FGV called from Teststand

In LabVIEW I have an FGV with a wrapper VI around it. I populate the FGV from LV and do couple readings.

After this I execute a sequence file which also calls the wrapper VI. I see that TS called the right VI because the parameters I see on the front panel of the wrapper are the same as what TS should call the VI with. Nonetheless in this case the FGV is empty, so my sequence throws an error.

If after that I call the wrapper again from LabVIEW then the FGV works just fine.

According to chatGPT this is because LV and TS does not sharin the same FGV instance. This could be true (at least it seems to be true), or false, I dont know.

How should I solve this data exchange problem between LV and TS? I assume it could be done by populating the FGV from TestStand. This might happen in the future, but for now the FGV certainly must be must be initialized by LabVIEW and I somehow need to make it work.

Thanks!

EDIT: I fixed the problem temporarily by not just calling the VI from the sequence but also defining the project file.
Overall I fell even more deeper to the rabbit hole, because at the end the LabVIEW part should be compiled to and exe and i have no idea how to get values out from an FGV then? Probably no way to do that, cause the FGV is in the exe. What would be the right way? Or can I leave the FGV out of the project and then both the exe and TS can call it?

You should be able to use LabVIEW FGVs in TestStand as long as the application instance is the same

https://www.ni.com/en/support/documentation/supplemental/13/how-teststand-interacts-with-labview-app...

I think you are seeing an issue, since you are initializing the FGV in a different Application Instance (LabVIEW itself) and not in the application instance, TestStands LabVIEW adapter creates.

So... launch the initialization code from LV and you are good.

.... AIs tend to hallucinate...
