Accelerometer to measure vibration of a 3D Printer

Hello, everyone!

I would like to measure the vibration of a 3D printer using NI cDAQ-9132.
Could you recommend a good 3-axis accelerometer?

This is a link from NI with a recommended list... so, how do I decide which one is better for my application?

There are a bunch of factors

  • Where and how are you going to mount it?
  • What is the maximum g force you're trying to measure and its frequency?
  • Any sensitivity you're targeting?

Hello, Santo_13!

  • Where and how are you going to mount it? I would like to mount it at the nozzle using a screw.
  • What is the maximum g force you're trying to measure and its frequency? Based on Marlin firmware, the standard acceleration is 3000 mm/s^2. Based on some papers, the frequency can reach 200 Hz.
  • Any sensitivity you're targeting?  I guess a high sensitivity would be better, because I need to get as much information as possible.
