Ability to create user built-in StepTypes

Status: Completed

Hi,

I think this Thread should be placed here.

http://forums.ni.com/t5/NI-TestStand/How-to-create-a-build-in-User-StepType/m-p/1134151

The aim of this is that users can create the same powerful steps like that once which comes from NI.

Biggest enhancement of this would be that i can get rid of the "edit" - button and there is no floating panel

somewhere else.

The second enhancement is that i may use drag and drop between the edit and variable panel (if this is neccessary).

Like Manooch_H I am interrested in comments, too

Regards

I'm looking for the capability to create user interfaces on the edit tab of custom steps. The edit tabs having a button, which in turn pop's up a window is not intuitive for users. I would love to see a sub panel in the edit tab. Where I can show my edit sub step VI. A similar option for other code modules

Hello all,

I'm also very interested in this feature also, since this would be a very nice an intuitive way for a sequence developer to use a custom step type. And also for some custom step types you don't want the developer to loose its focus from the development editor.

so all hope that this could be implemented in a feature release of Test Stand
