linux rt on PXI

Is it possible to download and compile the linux rt source code, provided by NI, for a PXI system?

Such a pxi system can be installed with either windows or pharlap. Since a real-time os would be necessary for my project, this would provide a solution...
Ni provides the source code: https://github.com/ni/nilrt

If so, would it be possible to still use the PXI modules like the FPGA's?

kind regards

sam

"Possible" is a frustatingly vague term.

Of course, it is possible. Outside of LabVIEW RT NXG support, NI Linux RT is not supported or tested on PXI controllers (and the extent of that support is limited to specific controllers with updated BIOS and firmware). This "support" does not include a customer-built NI Linux RT image. The work involved is fairly considerable even if you have Linux and OE experience. Even with all of this resolved, the matter of NI driver code is another hurdle to overcome, and, again, this is something that NI does not support (using NI drivers with customer-built NI Linux RT OS images).

The tl;dr is that it is technically possible, fairly difficult, and NI will not support what you want to do.
