How to get Console like Functionality

Hi!

 

I am developing a Custom device for a PXI 8840e running NI Linux RT. On Pharlap I was able to send strings to the Console and it was my primary debug method. Is there a way to achive something like this for RT Linux?

 

I did search the forum but found nothing recent.
