Unfortunately, directly grabbing images from a consumer digital camcorder is not supported by the IMAQ for 1394 driver. In order to be used with our driver, the camera must be DCAM compliant. Most camcorders output DV video, which is a compressed form of video.
If you would like to use the video data on your camcorder for processing in IMAQ Vision, you can record the camera's video to an AVI file, and then read that AVI file into your LabVIEW application using the IMAQ Vision VIs for offline processing.
