On behalf of the Wright Brothers Institute and the Ohio Aerospace Institute, you're invited to participate in the Beyond 5G Challenge, a student challenge sponsored by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL).
Ten student design teams will be provided with software defined radio (SDR) kits and material funding of up to an additional $5,000 to build and test their concepts. Selected teams will be invited to Dayton, Ohio, to compete for a $10,000 prize.
The challenge for this competition is to explore and develop SDRs coupled with software-defined networking techniques to enable autonomous distributed sensor and communication systems that can capture and distribute information throughout the sensor nodes and communicate with a central command.
Students must submit proposals through www.afrlstudentchallenge.org by October 15, 2018. Teams must identify a team leader, a faculty advisor, and register at this website.
Help us get the word out about this competition by passing this information along to any student teams that may be interested in competing.
