when using two SN74123N Multivibrators, I always get "two voltage sources were found to be in parallel" when I connect the grounds

Solved!
Go to solution

It doesn't matter if they are part of the same chip or not, every time I connect a ground to both of them, the error "two voltage sources were found to be in parallel" comes up when I try to simulate. The simulation works when I only try to use one of them, and connect one to ground. But, when I try to use them both, and connect them both to ground, I get the error. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hello,

it would be very helpful to see your schematic.

check internal pin connections in your components properties.

with hope it helps
good luck

True true, here's the schematic as a .jpg.

I'm not really sure what to look for with the internal pin connections. Shouldn't I be able to simply run two of those off the same power and ground?

Hello,
thanks for response

it looks OK to me.

It would be better to have your *.ms13 file

Here is the .ms13 file.

Thanks for your help. It seems almost like a glitch with multisim, as this should be simple.

Hello,

thanks for response

it looks like the problem with that specific component's model.

what I have tried was to rebuild the curcuit from the scretch.

after I added the first 74123 - simulation runs ok.

but after a added another 74123 - I have got that message.

Hmm, well that's interesting. So if there a way to resolve that, or am I just stuck having to find a different component?

Hello,  thanks for response

well, you could try another one from that line SN74122, SN74123, SN74130 and 74121 if it fits your needs.

Ok, I will try that as a last resort. Do you see any way to get several 74123's to work at the same time?
