Did you mean:

simulate realistic transformer

Hello

For an electricity course, we want to create a multisim tool which makes it possible to simulate a real transformer.

With real we mean: internal resistance , leak inductance, core inductance.

It is possible to put these values in the basic transformator from the liberary.

But stil we dont get the realistic working of the transformer.

The current running through the transformer is way to high.

And it is not possible to simulate the hysteresis carateristics, (current in function of the voltage).

Please any advice , on which settings we need to manage or how we easily can create this.

The transformer just nee to be a one phase 4kVA 380/220 volt transformer

thanks in advance

Hello ypal,

I believe you found TRANSFORMER_CT_RATED:

If that is not enough, there are several possibilities for you, depending on what you need:

  • If you have a SPICE model for a transformer, you can import that into Multisim. I found many online, maybe that is already sufficient for you?
  • Or, you could build a transformer to simulate it manually. Of course, this is a somewhat length process and probably not what you were hoping for.
