footprint switch

Im trying to use a dpdt switch and import it into ultiboard. Im using multisim version 10. I am able to get the switch but only as a virtual component. I tried creating the switch with component wizard however I cant find a footprint that matches the dimensions of the switch I have in mind. I also tried creating a footprint in ultiboard and though I'm able to make a foot print with the dimensions I want I cant connect it to any other components in my existing schematic.

Does anybody know a way of solving this problem? Im basically looking for a way of creating a six pin DIL, DPDT switch where I can specify my dimensions and be able to use it in ultiboard as well as connect its pins to other components in my circuit.

Any help that any one can provide would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Usually, virtual components do not have a footprint associated with them, you can assign one if you want to. If the footprint is on the database then try the following:

1. In Multisim, at the spreadsheet view, select the components tab and look for your DPDT component... then go to the Footprint column and click that cell... you will get a dialog to select a footprint... locate your footprint and make sure you map the pins correctly. Your DPDT should change its color from black (virtual) to blue (real).

2. If you do not see your footprint (the one you created) check this articles:
