edaparts.com?

Hi!

Does anyone know, if there is the database from edaparts.com available anywhere on the ni website?
Or any other part-database on the web, where I can look for parts, that are not availible in the libray from EWB?

Thanks,
Chris

Edaparts.com is now a section of Partsminer.com and is no longer free but a subscription service. Below I have listed a couple website that I hae found with components that may help. There aren't many out there.

You can find models of components from Component makers, but it is a crap shoot as to whether they will actually work in Multisim ,which is ridiculous because all spice models should work reguardless, but I have found that they don't because they are formatted for a particular spice engine which is not totally compaitble with the XSpice Engine used in Multisim. In other words, you can just drop a model in and expect it to work without knowing how to edit the model to make it work with Multisim.  Like I said there are ocassions when you find a model, create a component, and it works just fine. This is few and far between, though

http://www.tech-diy.com/spice.htm   I believe these models are created specifically for Multisim ( that is what it says anyway)

http://www.duncanamps.com           Lots of Tubes, Transformers, and Speaker Models.

These are just a couple off the top of my head. I am sure there are more. What we need is a dedicated website (whether it be from an individual or NI) where there is a repository of downloadable parts that is continually updated and free to everyone who has purchased Multisim.

What lacy says is correct. Also you can check the Technical Library, it does not has downloadable components, but it has links for many component manufacturers from where you can search.

Sometimes, manufacturers will not have spice models but universities, hobbyists, etc., may have, try search engines like Yahoo or Google as well.

In order for a spice model to work with Multisim it has to be in SPICE 3 format or XSPICE. PSPICE is supported in many cases but there will be special considerations and spelling not supported.
