cd4018 wrong type of counter

Hello,

The cd4018 Johnson counter seems to be modeled wrong.  It appears to be modeled as a bucket brigade counter rather than a Johnson counter.

For an example of how it is supposed to work, see figure 15 of the data sheet from Texas Instruments.

Compare this to the output from the circuit the I simulated in the attached file.

Would it be possible to get an update to the libraries with corrections to the models for the cmos and TTL IC's?

Thanks.

After I posted, I found that the link to the data sheet did not work.  Here is a link directly from TI for the data sheet for the CD4018 counter.

Hi Eric,

I was able to verify the problem and I will ask R&D to look into this problem
