I am trying to install Workbench 5 from original disks.  Error is :  Cannot read serial number from disk, insert original disk.

I don't think you will find much help regarding this matter. You'll have to contact NI directly so see if they can look up your data and restore you disk.

But since NI is on version 10, I wouldn't expect the cavalry anytime soon.

I would have to agree with Chris on this one. It has been so long since I used Version 5 that I can't remember how the installation process worked. Besides, they were on 3.5" floppies and I can't even use them now since my computer doesn't have a 3.5" floppy drive.

Sorry we couldn't help in this situation. I hope NI can help you get this working.
