My project requires that the copper traces on top of the PCB are exposed and actually protrude out of the board a little bit. What do I need to specify in my design so that the copper traces are sticking further out of the board? The reason I need to do this is that I will be laying a material on top of the copper traces to transfer energy to a sample, and I am using the copper traces as rails to lay the sample on. Am I able to do this? What should I do with my design to ensure that the copper traces are not covered and protrude out of the board about a millimeter? (In my picture below, I want to be able to lay a sample on top of the traces, so I need to make sure that the actual copper is exposed and can stick up from the board.)
