Simulation Freezes with vitual pot but no errors

I'm using Multisim 12.0.1 on a Windows 7 system (4 core Xeon).  Whenever I add a virtual pot to a circuit, the simulation works for a few seconds, then the virtual pot symbol becomes broken and red and all voltages got to microvolts.  No errors of any kind are indicated.  During the 5 good seconds, I can adjust the pot, but not afterwards.  What can I do to get rid of this problem.  Current schematic is a virtual pot with wiper into the base of an NPN emitter follower.

Found the problem.  I had 32 Volts going to the pot.  Apparently there is something with higher voltages on pots that causes a problem.  Once I reduced the voltage to 31 Volts, the simulation continues to run.
