Hello! College student brand new to Multisim here.
I have imported a LM7812 voltage regulator from the Mouser parts library. After much troubleshooting to why the simulation doesn't work, I realize that there is no model set for many of the Mouser parts. If I go to edit model or edit component in db, it is blocked, or grayed out. Is there a way to edit these parts without using component wizard to create a whole new component? Luckily some parts I need actually have models, but i would like to be able to specifically pick mouser parts that I want and run them in simulation. What if I want to check out different characteristics of voltage regulators, and try to push them to failure for fun. Or is the world of simulation not that advanced yet? Is there another software that is more able to do this? I want to be able to simulate, and then just translate that into a board design when I am happy with the results without having to use first Spice, and then draw a whole new circuit in another software like eagle.
Thanks!

Hello jhorsley,
I don't know if you followed this procedure, but this is the procedure to add the Multisim Blue database to Multisim, however I believe it doesn't work proeprly for Multisim 14.0 at the moment.

If you are seeing that some components do not have a model, you'd have add them through the component wizard.
If you are looking for a way to make a PCB design based on your multisim schematic, you can look into NI Ultiboard for that.
