In Multisim, the Current Probe is used in a similar way to that in real test environment. It is placed on a wire, and then wired into an Oscilloscope Instrument, which you have also placed. The setting on the Current Probe allows you to change the ratio of Voltage to Current, allowing you to set your current range. From my use of Multisim, I have also not seen any frequency limitations either, since you will be connected to the Oscilloscope. The ranges in Multisim, however, allow you to have 1fs/div as the smallest timebase on the Scope, and 1 THz as the highest frequency that can be produced by the Function Generator.
What Current and Frequency Range do you require? Are you using Multisim for Professionals, or the Education Edition?
