Dear forum users,
We are trying to understand the role of a by-pass made up by a potenciometer showed in the attached picture. The comparator is substracting the input from the bypass and the leaky integrator output. So what is the purpose of this by-pass line? thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Angel C.

Just a guess, but does that not set the threshold value at which the comparator would operate on the negative? With the RC looking bit on the integrator, it would only allow a value beyond a threshold set by the user? if you try altering the pot value and simulate with a node on the inputs and the output of the comparator do you get a different output?

Thank you for your reply! We figured it out in the end. If we take a look of the circuit as a control loop diagram, the bypass line is working as a Proportional controller and the potentiometer allows to change the proportional gain.
Best regards
