Current version of Multisim doesn't allow to view the Fourier Analysis Magnitudes in the form of Histogram. I hope it does in upcoming version.

Make part selection select parts only on active layer. It is very frustrating when Ultiboard selects and drags e.g. a connector on Top layer along with (intended to be deragged) a resistor on Bottom. Ultiboard also selects locked parts on inactive layers, in situations like in the attached screenshot. I can select the locked part (which is SMT part placed on Top) when dragging parts on Bottom - this is VERY frustrating...

It would be helpful in more complicated designs to have an option to color nets. Currently Ultiboard offers only "Highlight net" option, but it highlights only one net, with a predefined color and disapperas after doing something else. Net coloring allows to glance and see, for example, power pins locations.

A very useful improvement to Multisim would be to include support for the Digilent "Nexys 4 DDR" FPGA Board. Multisim 14.0 supports the "Nexys 4 DDR" board (no longer manufactured) but not the new "Nexys 4 DDR" (which replaces thr older one).

Alternatively, Multisim PLD Configuration Files for the Digilent "Nexys 4 DDR" FPGA Board should be made available.

In UB when a selection of multiple text objects are grouped most of them just dissapear.  They do not re-appear when the group is ungrouped.

This is a pain when mutiple structures with text objects exist and need to be replicated in a design.

I reported this as a bug a couple revs back when I was a beta tester and was told it was fixed for the next rev, but it was not.  I updated the defect report with that info, but noone seems to have noticed.

The report does not generate correctly if you don't have all the layers hard selected first in the design toolbox.

I believe this should be considered an error.  The layers exist and should be properly reported, whether they are enabled in the Design Toolbox for viewing or not.

Hello,

I am missing a functionality which is common to few other design tools.

Description:

1) Select component

2) Type on keyboard: srx 30

3) Result: Selected component is moved relatively 30 units in x direction

This is very efficient way how to position components on the board. You do not have to watch coordinates and carefully = slowly operate with mouse to place component in correct position.

Best regards,

Jirkus

This seems to have become worse and worse in recent revisions of MS and UB.  When the spreadsheet is open on a net or part tab in UB or MS every time I touch a net or part or row in the spreadsheet it redraws the screens over and over and over for many many iterations before calming down.  At least 3 times but sometimes as many as maybe 10 or more times.  And it's not very fast either.  It is becoming VERY irritating.

This would make managing files in a project that much simpler.  As it is now you have to go into windows explorer, rename the file, go back to the toolbox, click on the file, navigate to and select the new file after it tells you it can't find the file anymore.

Just a right click/rename would be so much smoother.

UB differential pair groups should be able to specify how close to equal length is required.

There is almost always some amount of length matching error.  Not being able to specify allowed error means you will always get a DRC when you have matched length nets.

In instance where goal is to move a part a specific number of grid steps, it is useful to

  1. select part by mouse click  Left arrow
  2. hold mouse button down
  3. press arrow key to move in direction of arrow

Ultiboard appears with Win 10 to require several pressings before the part moves one grid.  Seems that the queue for the keyboard is not flushed when left mouse button is depressed to choose part.  Or interupt does not response to first buttom push.

After part moves, Ultiboard accepts the next keyboard button press.  Hence, if moved say right to a location and then desire to move up.  Simply press the up arrow and instantly happens.

Simple request -  user interface issues of this sort make Ultiboard look like an unpolished program.  Bet fix does not take many lines of code, why not make Ultiboard super intuitive, and then a state of the art tool.

New feature proposal:

Frustrating is the number of button pushes necessary to see a net on multiple sheets/

example

Net appears on two sheets

currently have to select sheet to see net.  To see on next sheet have to select sheet.

Selecting takes time.

Would be great if   after selecting the RED arrow, that space bar would go to next sheet to see net.

Sounds trivial, Upverter shows how they have done this, and then in Altium, one of the so called top csd tools, their tool requires one third mouse clicks.  They even have people in house analyzing how to reduce clicks to help user to save time.

Ultiboard could have this feature and be the premier Circuit Design Suite.

Instead of identifying errors by double clicking on the Yellow X of entry in DRC Tab of spread sheet, double click on the error circle marker in the workspace to automatically point to the error in the list under the DRC Tab.

Sounds simple, should be easy to add feature.

This way all errors associated with a section of the layout can be systematically fixed.

Ultiboard's single interface for layout and simulation with ultiboard's new parts spice model library and all the test instuments from multisim

Set up ultiboard with all the test instruments and spice models  like multisim. You would do away with multisim and develope a single interface within ultiboard to simulate and design and layout ....

You would place the parts on the board, i.e. transformer ,diode caps wire them  like you do in multisim, place test instrument ...

This would save time because you would place parts where the are to be , have the ability to run simulation within ultiboard  single interface ..

Place a 741 op amp from the ultiboard library that would have the foot print and spice model with in ultiboard , place the feed back resistor ..

It kinda make no sense to lay out twice , once in multisim , then ultiboard , the single interface would be king..

Good day

Can you please add these important components in Multisim 14 as I consider thm extremely important. MAX1978 is a smallest safest most accurate single temperature controller for Peltier Thermoelectric cooler while MC10EP05 is an ideal pulse shaper where duty cycle skew is critical.

I would like to know how soon can this be done. I am on a extremely tight timeline.

Please help.

On a good day, can select net in Multisim Transfer and will be identified in Ultiboard.

Sometimes it is difficult to see the net/trace

Ultiboard needs a zoom in function to be able to see the net trace

Ultiboard also needs to highlight in spread sheet the net without having to click on net, and go to results

Goal efficiency, too many button pushes to see in spread sheet.

Also, TRANSFER  > highlight just does not work.  Have a look at Upverter, down load program and convince yourself.  There when net is highlighted since schematic and layout are in single environment the net/trace is highlighted, no extra clicks.  Ultiboard needs to be cleaned up, rid of legacy style methods.

Most designers need to find nets in ratsnest many times during the day.  Ultiboard if it is to be considered a PRO product needs automatic identification with out highlight or cross probing in multiple steps.

Multsim find NET works great, again goes to results and should just identify in workspace, and have a key to go to the next of the search results.

Every other layout program has an alphanumeric Find function.

Ultiboard, get with the program.

We're using Multisim 13 here at the college and I'm using it to create schematics for an engineering text. I would love the following:

1. Ability to export schematics in .svg (structured vector graphics) for publication quality results. Screen captures are low res and produce larger files even when reduced to b&w.

2. Schematic text able to use subscripts. Perhaps a special character could be used to signal this (like in TeX). For example R_f means "R" with subscripted "f". Currently, I do this with two different text boxes using different font sizes and manually align them. Very inefficient.

Often different types of prints are needed.  It should be easy to provide for saving and re-loading a print config as needed.

Export config schemes have already been implemented, which was a big plus.  Similar for printing would be great.

A bonus would be if it also remembered and set the printer properties for the target printer!

It's a pain switching everything back and forth between metric and imperial, and changing grids for fine detail parts.

Providing for saving and loading grid and unit configs in UB should be pretty easy to do.

Sometimes a part wants non-solder mask defined pads with a certain amount of clearance, but I have only seen an option in Ultiboard to expand solder mask openings globally, and not by part.

It would be nice to control this on a part by part (or footprint by footprint) basis.
