Did you mean:

which NI DAQ i should use for Optical Sensing of Water level?

i am designing an optical water level sensor, i need to know is there any DAQ available which takes optical signal and converts it to electrical? or any DAQ which is suitable for optical level sensing?

i will be grateful for help

thanks

Well, usually the DAQ cards work with electrical units (voltage, current) and time (frequency) , so you would need a sensor (transducer) to convert the water level to an electrical unit.

There are 1000 ways to converts a water level to an electrical signal, depending on environment, level distance and range, ...

Sea levels are measured via radar from satellites ... dishwascher usually use pressure sensors ....

So please tell us more about you problem ...

Thanks alot for helping, i am doing my project by using the optical fiber as sensor. i am going to to control the water pump by using the DAQ when the optical sensor gives an indication that tank is full. i need to know that which DAQ i can use for it and what technique use to convert it in electric?

Saeed

Hello Saeed,

I think this is what you're looking for:

You can find more information about optical sensing here:

Are you using an FBG sensor?  That is the type of optical sensor that PXIe-4844 works with.  If you have any questions, please let me know.
