what's the difference of single-ended and differential analog input?

what's the difference of single-ended and differential analog input?i have 10 thermocouples and 3 LVDT and 3 strain/brideg,so total there are 16 signal input,which mode fit me better?thanks

For floating signals such as thermocouples differential will be prefered. Please reference the KB below for more information on differences between the two input modes.
