triggering DIO lines on E series card (multifunction i/o)

<< i="" posted="" this="" question="" in="" labview="" general="">>

Hi,

I need to record AI (analog in) and DI (digital in) data synchronously, continuously at speeds of 250-1000Hz. I think this should be possible, using the "alternate clock rate specification" parameter of the "Digital Clock Config" VI.

However, I'm unclear as to how to get the digital acquisition and the analog acquisition to start simultaneously. If they were two sepparate devices, I would just send a trigger over the RTSI bus, but since they are part of the same device I have no idea how to start them at exactly the same time.

Any suggestions?

You cannot clock in digital data with the 6033 card. The only way to 'clock' in digital data is to do immediate DIO Reads in a loop. The timing will be through software and not hardware however.

The 'Digital Clock Config' vi is only for the 653x boards.

To do what you are wanting to do, you will need a PCI-6115 or PCI-6120 board.
