I am trying to measure strain using the NI 9237 module. From many queries answered in the NI community, I have known that NI 9944/NI 9945 " may be used" for quarter bridge configuration. Is it really necessary to use NI 9944/ 9945 hardware to complete the quarter bridge configuration? Since the strain measurement is based on the Wheatstone bridge principle, I think adding an external resistor of a suitable magnitude (350 Ohm in my experiment) should do the job without any need of NI 9944/ 9945. Am I right? Or is it a must to have NI 9944/ 9945 along with NI 9237 to complete the quarter bridge configuration?
Thank you!

i guess you can refer to the article below. As long as I understand, you don’t have to use a 9944/9945 hardware if you connect the wires like the article. But I have no experience about this, you should check if the result that you expect comes out 🙂
