Hi,
I am currently working with measurement system of an electrical car at my University. I intended to use shunts to measure current of electric components with RSE input mode without grounding, transfer it over DAQ card (NI USB-6009) to PC in the car, and to monitor these measurements in Labview.
So I am asking: does the NI USB-6009 card provide galvanic isolation for current signals? So the PC couldn't be harmed if overcurrent or overvoltage somewhere in the car system occurs.
Thank you in advance.

The USB-6008 doesn't have isolation.
The most similar isolated device would probably be the USB-6215.

Consider Hall effect sensors such as the Allegro Microsystems ACS756 in place of shunts. They have lower burden than shunts and up to 3 kV isolation.
