my sensor has only one output

hello ni world

i got confused when i tried to configuer my sensor in Max. coz the diagram tells me to connect the output to pin 68 and a ground pin. but my sensor has only one output. i connect it directly to pin68, leaving the ground pin empty. i recieve no result from the test pannel.
btw: i'm using pci-6251 and scb-68

it's a rookie question. can anyone gives me a hint ?

thanks in advance

What is the sensor, including manufacturer and model # if available.

Does the sensor require a power supply to operate? If so, connect the negative or common of the supply to the DAQ card ground.
