You can do analog hardware triggering if you are connected to an E Series DAQ board that supports it. If you don't, you can do software triggering, also known as conditional retrieval. You should find examples for both installed with your NI-DAQ driver software in the analog input section of the examples directory.

There are two different ways that you can physically apply an analog hardware trigger. One is to trigger off of one of the channels you are acquiring data from. The triggering channel must be the first channel in the scan list and must also physically be the first channel in the module.

The other way is to use the PFI0 line of the E Series DAQ board. To access PFI0 you would use the SCXI-1180 feedthrough panel, which attaches to the 50 pin connector
on the side of the SCXI-1349. The 1349 is cabled between your E Series DAQ board and the SCXI module in your chassis, and the 1180 panel allows access to some of the other pins available from the E series board. The SCXI-1180 has the SCXI-1302 terminal block with the screw terminals for accessing the pins.
