error 201401 on a cDAQ-9184

Hello,

I  am trying to connect a cDAQ-9184 (having one 9214 module for thermocouples) with my laptop and I get an error 201401 when I open the device through NI MAX. Please see pic attached. I have connected the cDAQ with my laptop via an ethernet cable as required. As a result I am not able to detect any channels on LabVIEW.

Any thoughts??

Thank you,

Kon

Hi Kon,

This error often pops up with certain host-side network settings, usually required by corporate IT groups to access company networks.  We can try to alter some of the settings on your NIC to see if we can get the direct connection working, but if it's an option, I'd recommend connecting both the laptop and the cDAQ to the same network (or even to the same router or switch), rather than connecting the two directly over your Ethernet cable.  That tends to get around the error, and it saves a lot of the headache of messing with firewalls and changing settings back and forth.

Hi,

I've the same problem in my University, but i don't understand why...

I don't have antivirus on my computer (win 7), and Firewall is disabled

When i open Firefox (for instance) and when i open http:\\myCdaq, cDAQ is ok...

When i  restart it, thanks to html interface, it's ok.

But, nothing when i try to connect on NI MAX... I see it, but... nothing is possible (Screen shot)

However, for others computers (windows XP), it work and on the same network...

I don't understand why and teachers are disappointed...

Thanks a lot if you have some ideas...

Herve

Hi Herve,

You need to add the device to your MAX configuration.  Just hit the button with the blue "+".
