create own rtsi cable

Just a quick question. We have tons (not literally) of spare ribbon cable and connectors for nearly all sizes. I was thinking of making my own RTSI connector (PCI 6023E -> PCI 6071E). However before I do - are the pins directly connected or do I need to  change the wiring.

E.g.

Pin 1 Board 1 -> Pin 1 Board 2 -> Pin 1 Board 3 ....
Pin 2 Board 1 -> Pin 2 Board 2 -> Pin 2 Board 3 ....
Pin 34 Board 1-> Pin 34 Board 2-> Pin 34 Board 3...

Could not find an answer on the Ni forum. I dont mind buying complex cables but this seems just too simple.

Yep, I've had success with simple homemade RTSI's, and have also used an old 34 pin floppy drive cable (being careful not to use the really old ones with a slit and twist in the ribbon cable).

ALERT! LabVIEW's subscription-only policy came to an end (finally!). Unfortunately, pricing favors the captured and committed over new adopters -- so tread carefully.
