can nt/pci pc system be migrated to xp pc?

Is there a clean migration for an existing system: GW2K pc, w/NT os, PCI-7344 motion card & PCI-MIO-16E-1 multifunction card?  Customer would like to use newer HP/Compaq pc, w/ XP os, only has 1 PCI slot.  We are wanting to use the existing NI hardware if at all possible.  System was developed w/ NI Developer Suite 2000.  What h/w & s/w components are forward compatible?

Hi rgweber,
Based on the hardware that you mentioned, you will need to use the NI-DAQ and NI-Motion drivers. You will want to be sure that you have a version that will work on your OS. The information about the OS compatability for the drivers can be found in their readme file that is available on their download page which I included a link to below. If you are working in LabVIEW you will need to be sure that your version will be supported on the new OS also. There are versions of both LabVIEW and the drivers that would work on both systems but some may only work on one or the other.

You also mentioned that you had two PCI cards and the new computer only has one PCI slot. You will only be able to use one PCI card at a time with the newer system. Also be sure that the new system is not using a low profile PCI slot in order to continue using your current PCI cards.

Please look over these resources for additional information on our OS compatibility and low profile PCI.

Which Windows Versions Are Compatible with LabVIEW and the LabVIEW Toolkits?
