Hello All,
I have a cDAQ9188 chassis, and I couldn't communicate with it using NI MAX.
I'm using a standard Ethernet cable to directly connect the chassis to my PC.
When I open the NI MAX, the chassis is not detected, so I tried to do manually by entering the chassis hostname which consists of "cDAQ9188-<S/N>".
However, the chassis still can't be detected.
The Ethernet settings that I'm using is as follows:
Obtain an IP address automatically.
Obtain a DNS server address automatically.
thanks,

Try resetting the cDAQ.
Try resetting the NI MAX config data, got to Tools -> Reset Configuration Data.
I have several of these chassis and I was unable to connect to one of them, just like you decribe, I tried all I could tink of, but it didn't work, I though it was damaged and was ready to sent it for repair when i just swapped it on a diferent testcell and it worked on the first attempt.
Saludos.
