bnc-2110 to measure 4-10mA signal?

I'm trying to use a BNC-2110 to measure a 4-20mA signal. There is no way to look at current in the test panel, so I'm wondering if the BNC-2110 can measure current, or if it is only voltage.

The BNC-2110 cannot measure anything. It's a dumb terminal block. You need an actual DAQ device. Most DAQ devices will only measure voltage but since you did not specify what you have, can't provide you with an answer.

Hi tavis,

You would have to set up some sort of external circuitry with a shunt resistor to measure voltage across. This KnowledgeBase explains the concept.

Thanks to both of you. I'm using a pxi-6133 card. I'll check out the knowledge base article and see if I can figure it out.
