Hi, I have been using USB-6008 boards for a while and I am very happy with them. I normally work on a standard PC with Windows XP, VB.NET, Labview, MAX etc. Now I need to develop a system which has to be portable, low weight, low cost, so I was thinking of using a PC104 board (this one for instance http://www.microcomputersystems.com/6354.htm) with Windows XP or XP embedded. Are there any compatibility issues with USB boards? Do you recommend any particular hardware? How much disk space will I need for the device driver?
Thanks
Nunzio

Hi Nunzio,
in general, all DAQ products are supported with PC104 systems, thus also USB devices.
To reduce the disk space required by the drivers (NI-DAQmx for USB-6008), you could install NI-DAQmx Run-Time Engine (downloadable from NI site) if you simply have to run applications developed with DAQmx (for example, it does not install MAX...).
Hope this will help!
Bye!
