Wiring single phase AC source to NI 9225

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi all,

How can I wire a single phase AC from my wall point to the NI 9225 module.  Is that okay if I connect LIVE wire to AI+ and NEUTRAL wire to AI-?

Thanks,

Ajay.

Yes, just do not exceed the 300VRMS as stated in the manual:

And make sure the power is off when you wire it!

Thanks AK2DM,

Doesn't the overvoltage protection inside the module takes care if I accidentally connect source of above 300Vrms?

Thanks,

Ajay.

It should, but I do not have the details of the over voltage protection circuitry employed in the module.

Please be very careful with this.  There's enough energy to kill you in that circuit.  At my business any system with exposed voltages of >60V requires substantial safety training before you're allowed anywhere near it.  It's an absolute requirement that exposed terminals be guarded against accidental contact and that no work is done on live circuits unless you have the correct training and insulative equipment.
