What does samples per channel in this VI mean

Hi I am trying to learn labview and have been looking at different tutorials and labview websites. I look at the examples in the Labview and always come up with the same question. I have tried to look for the answer somewhere else, buy I find none.

The question is what I have posted. What does samples per channel mean? (when using the DAQmx)

I know that the rate is how many samples per sec do you want to read. Correct?

so if the samples per channel is 50 and the rate is 1000. Does this mean you want 1000 samples to be read per sec 50 times?

I'm confused

It will acquire 50 samples at a rate of 1000 per second (1 millisecond). Thus the acquisition will take 50 milliseconds to complete.
