Usb 6008 and controlling a stepper motor is this possible..tia sal2

Greetings All,

I Have a usb 6008 and I'm using Labview 7.1
I have a mitsumi m42sp-7 stepper motor and I'm using MC1413P/ULN 2003 NPN darlington driver to control it with 12V. I would like to send digtial output signals from my DAQ to the MC1413P/ULN 2003 NPN darlington chip to control my stepper motor. Are there any examples? all I can find are Motion assitant examples.

PS: I'm trying to connect this example using the (four wire connection) MC1413P/ULN 2003 NPN to labview 7.1 http://www.doc.ic.ac.uk/~ih/doc/stepper/control2/connect.html

TIA

Hi TIA,

There is a shipping example that ships with the DAQmx Base drivers that shows how to write to a digital port. The DAQmx Base examples don't show up in the NI Example Finder, but you can find this example directly by opening up:

C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.1\examples\daqmxbase\Dynamic\dio\Write Dig Port.vi

Also keep in mind that the USB-6008 is limited to 8.5 mA for each digital I/O line. Here's a link to to product home page and the data sheet for the USB-6008 in case you need it.

Good luck,
