USB cable length for NI cDAQ-9178

Hello,

I am using the NI cDAQ-9178 with USB cable and need more USB cable length (at least 8m). I tried already an active CAT5/6 USB extension (https://www.reichelt.de/USB-Kabel/USB-69074/3/index.html?ACTION=3&GROUPID=6907&ARTICLE=149315&OFFSET...) but this does not work at higher sampling rates as ~ 1 kHz. It works at sampling rates < ~ 1 kHz

Has anybody experiences with working USB extensions for NI cDAQ-9178?

The USB-IF has defined a maximum cable length of 5m for USB 2.0 communication. The major concern is latency, not signal integrity, which is why your extension cable only works for slower sampling rates. More info, here.

If you can move your systems closer together, that's probably the best solution. If not, you might consider Ethernet cDAQ.
