USB 6216 Digital I/O driving RFD3055

I want to drive some 12VDC solenoid valves using a USB 6216 and RFD3055s.   Do I need to add a gate voltage drive transistor due to the difference between gate to source (5V) and drain to source (12V)?  

Fet and valve datasheets attached.

The valves can probably be driven using a 2N2222 but I wanted to build a something that can drive larger loads also.

It works now I had the load on the "wrong side" of the drain source circuit.
