USB 6210 device not resettable

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I am having some issues with a USB-6210, when I connect it to the target PC.  The following is installed:

- NI DAQmx 8.9.5

- NI MAX 4.6.0

I can run one or so tasks, before I get the following error:

ERROR -88708 occurred at DAQ Assistant

When I attempt to reset the device, I get the following error:

ERROR -50405. A pointer type parameter is invalid.

I then need to disconnect the USB plug, and reconnect to get it to work again.

I have connected the USB-6210 to my laptop (which has different software versions installed), I don't have this problem.  Which makes me think that the device is ok.  Are there any known bugs with these versions of software, and the USB-6210?

Cheers

Hello Chris

I suspect a bad install of DAQmx on the PC in question. There are no known issues with DAQmx 8.9.5 with the USB-6210. I recommend installing the latest version of  DAQmx.

Hi Glenn,

Thanks for the reply.  I called NI support shortly after posting yesterday, and they suggested that it could be related to noise on the USB cable or USB Hub.  I tried a different USB cable (the original cable was wired near other potentially noisy equipment), and a different USB port (went for the back, rather than the front), and the problem has not reappeared since.
