USB 6008 relay control using a controller board

So a USB 6008 doesn't have enougth amps to controll a relay by itself but what about using some kind of controller board , like these folks used(http://digital.ni.com/worldwide/singapore.nsf/webcustsol/991958A8418E09AD86257378001D37B2?OpenDocume...) to control a relay? Will something like this http://www.winford.com/products/rly102.php work? is the power consumption still to high?  It says it works with a 5V TTL signal so???

Hi Stew,

I don't think you would have a problem controlling the relay you linked above.  The 6008 will supply a TLL signal up to 8.5 mA per channel on the digital output lines.  This looks like it is enough to control the relay according to the datasheet.

I hope this helps,
Paul C.
