I am looking to use the USB-6001 DAQ to monitor my project. I currently have the TX5633 Accelerometer:

Would this DAQ be acceptable with this accelerometer?

No, not directly. The sensor is a ICP (or IEPE) type. You would need a certain power supply (current source, here 0.5 to 8 mA , and a decoupling capacitor)
NEVER connect this sensor directly to a voltage power supply! You will burn the internal electronic!
There are USB DAQs with such sensor supplies build in, (look for IEPE supply) but more expensive 😉
Horrible datasheet BTW... they declaire a 12V supply voltage which is wrong ( if it's a ICP or IEPE sensor)

Hi Henrik,
Thanks for your response, yeah thought that might be the case, would a circuit such as below work for the USB-6001 DAQ?
Thanks, Connor

Yes, that's the usual schematic for a IEPE sensor supply.
Since current diodes are not that easy to buy, a BF545 with a 1k resistor should do the job. (or any other current source with 0.5 to 8mA)
The BF545 is the smd version of the BF245 which get rare now 😉 ... should end with a CS of about 1 mA.
(or choose a 2k trimmer and make it adjustable)

I have NI 6001 DAq card and YMC 222A05 accelerometer can anyone help me how to acquire data of accelerometer??
