Time since DAQ Power On?

Since the calibration of a device is sensitive to temperature and given that the user manual recommends that a device is allowed to be powered for a period of time before using it, is there a way to read back from the device the time since it was powered on?

If your device has an internal temperature sensor you can read it.

Property : DAQmx calibration info _ devTemp

Power on time .... I have not seen ... but your OS should be aware of it. Even USB devices migth be logged somewhere...

The temperaure reading won't help too much unless I spend a period of time measuring it to see if it is changing, this could be several minutes.  However this may be a solution if I have a temperature sensor and the operator will at least have some time to go and make a cup of tea!

The OS solution assumes that the PC was on when the device was powered and plugged in (I have a USB device), although I suppose as long as the OS has seen it continuously for say 15 minutes then this could work.  Not sure if it is possible though.

Maybe this would be a useful addition to DAQ products.
