Single ended RTD measurements on a USB-6210

Hello

I would like to configure the USB-6210 to measure from 16 individual RTD's against a common ground but using the DAQ assistant inputs AI-8 through to AI-15 set up with single ended inputs against AI GND. However  AI-0 to AI-7 set up as differential inputs. If I change the input type  to voltage there is no difficulty setting up 16 single ended channels against AI GND. Please can you offer any help.

Hi,

Due to the unconventional wiring setup you are using I don't think that the DAQ assistant RTD measurement will be appropriate for your task.  The standard methods for wiring RTDs are outlined in this tutorial.

If you do want to go ahead with your wiring set up I would suggest using the voltage measurement and then convert this to temperature within your own software although this may lead to problems with accuracy and calibration.  The best option for you I think though would be to try and get hold of a second DAQ card to increase the number of inputs you have available.
