Settle time of PXI-6221

I'm unsure about the multichannel scanning functionality of the PXI-6221 DAQ.  If the NI-PGIA is configured to use a constant Input Selection Range for multiple channels, what would be the settling time?  The manual for the card give examples for different ranges but not a constant range.  Does this mean settling time is not an issue?

Hi Chris,

Thanks for using the NI Forums! With regards to the PXI-6221. As this is a multiplexed device, the same PGIA value needs to be set over all channels. The Settling time between different channels depends on how accurate you need. When set on full scale step e.g. ± 10V.

Accuracy, full scale step, all ranges
±90 ppm of step (±6 LSB) ..........4 μs convert interval
±30 ppm of step (±2 LSB) ..........5 μs convert interval
±15 ppm of step (±1 LSB) ..........7 μs convert interval

Thanks,

Hi Chris,

Sorry I wanted to correct myself slightly on my post. The PGIA can be set different for different channels if wanted. When the PGIA switches channels and ranges at same time. There will also be a settling time when switching inputs from full value to -full value even within the same range.

Hope this helps,

Ash
