SCXI-1102, SCXI-1303, T type thermocouple, incorrect reading when using Built-In CJC

Hello,

I'm using SCXI-1102 with SCXI-1103 terminal block for a T type thermocouple. When I configure my setup in DAQmx and select the CJC source to "Built-In", I got extremely high readings (around 200 deg. F) at room temperature. The readings does respond though if I warm the thermocouple.

Strange thing is that, if I switch the CJC source to "constant" of 25 deg. C, the readings appear to be reasonable, at least close to the measured room temperature, although I didn't yet verify it in ice water or boiling water.

But I will need to use "Built-In" option since the ambient tempeture varies throughout the day. My understanding is that there is a thermistor built in SCXI-1103 block and provide a CJC reference. Thus, "built-in" CJC should work, right?

Any thoughts? Thanks a bunch!!

Hi Stonetang,

I saw a similar situation where the wrong terminal block was selected in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX). I would double check the setup in MAX.
