Regarding persistance of output signals, are updates necessary?

When a task generates an output signal on a channel, does it stay there indefinitely? Suppose I destroy the task and create a new task to output a signal on another channel, is the first signal maintained? My testing indicates that both signals are maintained, can I depend on it?

For example, suppose task1 generates a 5V signal on ao0. Task1 is then destroyed. New task2 generates 6V signal on ao1. Do both signals remain permanently?

The line voltage on a channel when not in use is not specified. So, no it would not be guaranteed to be maintained.
