Power Supply for ER-16

I am building a system and I need to control pneumatic valves with a digital input.  I plan to use the USB-6501 and the ER-16.  The valves require either a 6,12, or 24V input.  When reading the manual for the ER16, it sounds as if I can use either the 5V internal supply or a 5V external supply.  How do I (or can I) use it to control the 24V valves that I would like to use?

Hi jonrviper,

I believe you are referring to the power source required to have the ER-16 function properly.  To change the position of the relay, the ER-16 requires either the 5V power source from a DAQ card or an external 5V power supply.  This does not refer to how much voltage can pass through the relays.  The ER-16 contains16 single pole, double throw relays that can switch up to 30VDC or 250 VAC at 3A.
