PXIe-4331 RTD Measurement

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello,

I am wondering if it is possible to use the PXIe-4331 for RTD measurement.

If so, what bridge configuration should I use?  Is the Quarter Bridge circuit, figure 2-4 in the user manual appropriate?

Thanks

Hi, what type of RTD are you using?

Hi Gevor,

I am responding to this for other users and have since found out that the 4331 in theory could be used to measure RTDs. ( I was using a PT1000, 1kohm RTD), but found out that it doesn't have nearly the dynamic range to measure resistance over the 100 ohm to 1kohm range I needed.

I wound up using a four wire DMM module to measure the resistance directly.  I read that using a bridge to read an RTD hasn't been done since the time of D'Arsonval movements and the dawn of modern high resolution DMMs.
